Lupe Fiasco took part in the 2009 Joyful Heart Foundation gala on May 5th in New York City. After a 20-minute video about survivors of sexual assault and the retreats that they go on to begin the healing process (courtesy of Joyful Heart), the night's entertainment kicked off with Lupe getting the crowd going with his hit "Superstar." The nominees for the 2009 Urban Music Awards were recently announced! Lupe is up for an award in the category "Best Hip Hop Act"! VOTE for Lupe now!

The UMA's will be held on July 17th 2009 in New York City. They will be webcasted live to millions of viewers worldwide and the televised show will also be syndicated for broadcast via 12 channels across the USA, Africa, the Caribbean and Europe.

He is caught in a feedback loop (also a principle of marketing) which has an inherent mechanism that infinitely justifies its own existence... life events...Just look at what you are doing now...looking to the box for...

Lupe, Justin Timberlake & singer/rapper Kenna are teaming up to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa, in an effort to raise awareness for the worldwide water crisis. When asked about his motivation to hike up the 19,000-foot peak, Lupe Fiasco joked, "Part of the motivation is beating Kenna to the top. Sabotaging his tent, taking the lining out of his coat, lacing it with ants or something like that." The three are set to embark on their journey this fall. Find out more info on their climb here!
