All Black Everything The reason why this is my favorite song is because its all black everything. Black people have come along way since slavery and this song has made me realize all of the possibilities that could have happened if we were never slaves. Even though the president is partly black which is a step forward i still feel like we as African Americans have a long future ahead of us and this song is a stepping stone to that realization.

When there's a song that has has substance, it's hard to choose. But if I had to, i'd choose "The Cool"..that song is simply amazing.

The Coolest - First Lupe song I ever heard, and I've been hooked since.

Words ive never said: because its the real, so people can see what the world is going through. And not about bitches and money and weed. It's just a great song for real. The Show Goes On: because lyrical it is a very good song, and the videoclip just owns.

the die, gold watch, and niggas gotta eat. easily my top 3. the lyrics metaphors are beyond the pale and its nice to rap about what you like and its not about bitches and weed.

cmon mann!! favorite song?! thats an impossible choice!! blaarrgghh!! well.. if i HAD to choose one... it'd HAVE to be glory. oooh yeah, one off the classic mixtapes. new lu fans have no idea what i'm talkin bout.. REAL lupe fans know exactly what i'm talkin bout. in my opinion, glory is lyrically the most thought of and well-put song ever written! syllable structure and rhyme scheme stays constant.. through out the WHOLE FUCKEN SONG!! the metaphors he uses just add to the overall greatness, and honestly, its the greatest masterpiece that lupe's ever written. lupe's more then just a rapper, he's a poet, a philosopher, an idealist, but more importantly, a mastermind and the best in what he does...

I wanna say "The Cool" album was mine. Me and my best friend would turn this up all time. Its when you have memories of when you can put a song on and then it all hits you back. This album does this for me everytime when things were great and simple. never thinking about what could happen the next day. RIP dear friend.

The poster looks sick! Favorite lupe song is Hurt Me Soul, it epitomizes lupe's subject content.

My name is Brianna Halsey and I would have to say my new favorite song has to be words I never said due to the fact that it feels like Lupe had taken the thoughts of so many people and had the balls to say what we all wanted to say. with no regrets I love it!
RoyalRamirez's picture

My name is Luis Ramirez and my Favorite song would have to be "Put You On Game" the story telling behind the song is unmatched, not only is he painting a picture but he makes you the listener feel as though you are there. Only the greatest writers in history can capture there audience in such a way, this is why Lupe is G.O.A.T!

i want one lol i love his song the show goes on

My name is Marcia and my favorite Lupe song would have to be "American Terrorist" and 'Words I Never Said. Two deep and lyrically challenging songs that always makes me question what's really going on in this world. I've been a Lupe fan from day one due to his creative style that pushes towards stimulating the mind, rather than makin me bop my head without any true purpose or meaning. Clearly he's not given the credit he deserves, but I'm still and will always remain a whole hearted Lupe supporter.

My favorite song by Lupe is Mean and Viscous. That song showcased how lyrical, and intellegent Lupe really is, plus it just gets you real hype. The first verse alone is enough to get you hooked onto Lupe's music and the last two verses are just as good. That is the first song I ever heard by Lupe and ever since then he has been my favorite rapper; nobody comes close and nobody ever will. Other Lupe songs that make my favorite list are Twilight Zone, The Cool, I Gotcha, The Instrumental, Champ is Here, The Show Goes On, Blackout, Daydreaming, Beautiful Lasers, Kick Push, and finally Dumb it Down. Good luck to everybody and congrats to who ever wins one of the posters.

This one of the more difficult decisions I've had to make in a while. There are so many songs I love from Lupe and my favorite song varies with the mood I'm in. Although I would have to say that the "The Cool" is definatly up there. Just the fact that you can close your eyes and vividly picture everything he describes is amazing. The metaphors, alliterations, double entendres, wordplay, rhyme scheme, imagery, and pure emotion makes this ballad of a song, which is accompanied by one of my favorite instrumentals by Kanye West, one of the best Hip-Hop records to ever be made. "Working like a.. hmm.. reverse archaeologist Except.. his buried treasure was sunshine So when some shined through a hole that he had drove it reflected off the gold and almost made son blind". That line is my favorite from the whole song. Who else is a wordsmith like Lupe? I am 17 and honestly it is hard to find a Lupe fans in a era where dance music and escapism is favored over conscious and thought-provoking music. "The lyrical three" as I like to call it are Rakim, Nas, and Lupe as they all were influenced the one before them and progressing their lyricism throughout each artist. Lupe is by far my favorite out of any artist though. I could say much more but I think I have said enough on one post. Honorable Mentions: Hurt Me Soul, Glory, Kick Push I & II, The Instrumental, Little Weapon, Conflict Diamonds, The Coolest, Put You On Game, Intruder Alert, Letting Go, Words I Never Said, Super Star, Never Forget You, Mean & Vicious, and Beautiful Lasers.

well that's a little difficult since I'm in love with almost all of his songs,WORDS I NEVER SAID,is definitely my choice specially after I watched the video,it really touched me,because there are millions of people around the world with unheard voices ,people who are silenced because they're voices are stronger than any weapon out there people who are LASERS but treated like LOSERS.people who have the ability to make a change and being pushed and forced to stay tamed,WORDS I NEVER SAID is giving us our VOICEs back

Hey my name is Sean Estelle. My favorite song would be Fighters, off the cool. It's such a stripped down beat, and you really hear the flow of Lupe's voice and his intention in the music. However, LASERS as a whole is a really fantastic album. It's socially conscious rap. I just saw the interview Lupe had with Stephen Collbert and it's so refreshing to see an artist that actually cares about what they're putting out in the world instead of just another single about women and booze. This is the true potential of mainstream music and the change it can bring in people!

my 15 year old son asked me to listen to Lupe's music because he thinks it aims and often reaches a higher standard and is not limited in its scope...all this while sounding great and being musically exceptional! I concur. I applaud anyone, especially a young creative person, who speaks Truth to Power, applying and polishing their talents for positive global change. I would be delighted to have my son display this poster in our home. Thank You.

ps No favorite song yet!

american terrorist by far. He makes you realize what the gov't has done to the native hawaiians and native americans. they took their land and over threw their local gov't for the US's gain. i live in hawaii and it obvious how the white people stole our island from us, and we got nothing in return. All the white americans come over and build million dollar mansions while the local hawaiians are foreced to live on shacks on the beach because we can not afford to live anywhere else. They made us stop speaking our antive language and forced us to speak english. to this day hawaii as the worst education in the US and is because the gov't ruined our island and refuses to help us

omg ok lets see.. every single lupe song is amazing but i'd have to choose "the coolest" because the day that i had first hear the song which was in '08, i havent stopped listening to it since them. i literally hear the song everyday. i'm the biggest lupe fan you'll ever meet :)

Choosing just one song is so difficult but if I must I would have to say "hurt me soul" the song is incredible. It's everything I love about Lupe in one place. It's smooth, emotional, lyrically masterful and unique from other rappers in every way. I'm listening to the song now and can't help but get choked up. It's too good. A close second would be"The Coolest" for many of the reasons already stated. The relationship between The Cool, The Game and The Streets is something I hope Lupe continues to develop.

If I had to choose one I would absoulutely choose Gold Watch hands down! I can directly relate to the song seeing the world from such a different angle then most people do and everything not adding up to fit the culture and the scene.
