ExposingtheWicked: I think what Zinn was trying to convey was that if we let those who lead us dictate our ideas and our very way of thinking, then they've got control over us. By infiltrating our minds and making us blindly believe what they want us to believe, they no longer have to try to control us; they already have. And I think that quote is a great example of #7 in the L.A.S.E.R.S. manifesto (We want to think our own thoughts).
