OkayplayerTV: Lupe Fiasco Part I

I really like Lupe, I honestly do, but does anyone else see a problem with an artist that is supposed to be counter-culture and against the grain stomping on his soap box about money? If Lupe is as revolutionary as he claims shouldn't material gains mean nothing to him? Shouldn't he embrace the pirates of the internet as the last keepers of rebellion? I know everyone has to eat and music is the intellectual property of the artist, but Lupe is def not struggling to put food on the table. Maybe that intern who leaked, aka stole, the track didn't want to feel bigger than he was but wanted to give back to the movement that got him his gig in the first place. The dawn of electronic information has fundamentally changed traditional property notions in our society, and it's time artists take this into account rather than cry about all of their lost sales. "I don't trust America, after watching Zeitgeist," that may be true Lupe but you still love the capitalistic structure that keeps Uncle Sam's, and your, pockets fat.

I will be buying lupe's album regardless. I was surprised at how pirating and leaks REALLY hurt the artists we love. That really is some low shxt. We all went out and copped B.o.B's album, and that turned out to be a number 1 selling album in the country. To my fellow L.a.s.e.r.s. let's do the same for Lupe. Am I the only one that sees a number 1 selling album in the country?

We need this album to go Diamond. I cant stand when the best artist can't sell because of leaks. The label needs to release his album soon. And Lupe, continue to do what you are doing. We need the positivity.
