I'm a South African brotha. Grew up, listenin to music durin the early 2000s periodand recently I've been researchin oldskool MCs and listenin to their tracks, startin waaayyyy back with Rakim and KRS-One. I dig Lupe cuz he's new on the scene and still keeps it real like Talib Kweli and Mos Def. I get to follow a MC, buy his albums as they release and find out news about him.
Right now I'm an aspiring MC (and DJ!), on the lookout for people who listen to real hip hop and form a group. Would one day like to perform alongside Lu if he's still in the game by the time I get out there.
Unfortunately I'm not like those around me, few listen to hip hop and the ones that do only care about rappers like lil Wayne and Drake. Only 2 others appreciate the not-so-popular MCs but now Lupe has inspired me with his new album to just keep it real and be the person I am. So we currently just freestlyin to get used to rappin, makin names for ourselves (seriously) and lookin for turntables of my own.
