WARNING: If you dont like me now...your gonna HATE me when you read this....its chocked full of satire & truth...be advised...

-Via Rapradar.com's YN Blackout Section "I don't know. Never liked this guy. Not a fan. Ego doesn't match the catalogue. At least Kanye made classics in the '00s. Behind the boards and on the mic. This Chi-town fellow's Joe Budden-like Internets hype irks me. I just don't get it. I rather listen to an old Tribe CD. Ha. Anyways, dude will stay present on the RR site next year because that's what you young bucks want. As for me, the OG, I'll pass. Kiss my ass, if you don't like it. Happy Holidays!"

He talking about Lupe Fiasco by the way...ummm...Thanks I guess???

    Why though?

Anyways, dude will stay present on the RR site next year because that's what you young bucks want."

Hmmm...I mean he has all the pertinent and professional information i.e. Ego v.s. Catalouge argument, not as good as Kanye, Joe Budden-esque derived fanbase, lack of classics etc, as well as all the right in the world not to post me up on his site. So why take the hypocritical stance of continuing to promote something that you thoroughly and strongly disagree with both personally and professionally?

Greed maybe? I mean my name brings traffic to sites. Now whether the amount of traffic is small or massive doesn't matter. It all translates into "impressions" which once accumulated translates into money. Impressions mean money. Money from advertisers and investors. So to be clear the equation crudely looks like this:

artists and all that surrounds them (good or bad, gossip worthy or uninteresting) = traffic = impressions = money!

Now we can all agree the most classic byproduct of money is GREED...so maybe its greed...keep him in the mix even though we don't like him just because he adds to the bottomline...say it aint so...and this leads to my next one...

Or what about just plain old honest phoniness, fakery & falsehood?...I mean thats what RUNS our industry...a lil money here and a lot of phoniness over there....all kept quietly under a smiley face until you leave the room and they got what they want out of you and then before you can even get to the elevator its fuck that nigga!...I mean to NEVER had liked someone means you didn't like them from the beginning...like from day one...to be safe lets say 2005...and how many times have I been in XXL under your reign? or how many posts have I had on RAPRADAR.COM since then?...hmmm...somebody somewhere is faking the funk...but hey thats how its is from the STREETS to the BOARDROOM...niggaz do fake shit all the time to get things done but niggaz dont ever NEVER wanna be called out as fakes or when they are on their phoney behavior especially when KEEPING IT REAL or REALNESS is the status quo and such a reputable status to have & maintain...so maybe someone is just being dishonest with themselves and needs to have a INTERNAL REALITY CHECK so they can just do the things that that person wants to do in full honesty & harmony with themselves...you know?...truth shall set ya free....

Ok what about public pressure?...pressure from the public...the public pressuring you to do something that you dont necessarily want to do or agree with for the sake of remaining in good favor or status with the public. Thats what runs the industry too...Customer is king and you are a servant to the public. That is such a position of great responsibility. So i hope that if some small cross section of the public humbly comes to request you NOT post anymore Lupe Fiasco material that the reaction to this public demand will be as eloquent and responsible as "I'll pass. Kiss my ass"...I mean that is what the "young bucks" want...and Lord knows I could use the exposure...

Why black out when you can just as easily shed light?...some people...i guess...

    Happy Holidays Indeed!!!

I'm starting to fear for Lupe. He seems to be caught in a game that's rigged to lose and confused with how he should play. On one hand, he wants to prove his skill and intelligence to the masses (the MTV-watching, lil Wayne listening average joe), but understands that to appeal to that crowd is to stoop to a lower level of lyrical content (one that relies on diss-tracks and money money money) which, unfortunately, may be more pleasing to the bottom-line-obsessed corporate slave-driver. On the other hand, he seems to want to turn around a give a big middle finger to the rest of the industry and continue spitting truthful lyrics full of complex metaphor and story-telling; the masses may not like it, but it's what his devoted following has fallen in love with. Which should he choose? My bias has been clearly stated in the wording of this post, but I fear that Mr. Jaco's decision needs to be considerate of many complicated factors. I'll buy Lupe's next album, to help support his work. Will I enjoy it as much as I have his previous records? I don't know. Maybe I'll just become a devout fan of Japanese Cartoon. Good luck, Lu. I hope you can free yourself from all of this--not for the sake of the music we want to listen to, but for the sake of your own personal health and well-being. You've contributed enough to the happiness of other peoples' lives; please take time to care for yourself.

haha I hate how everytime someone says something even romotely negative about Lupe ATCQ is always thrown into the mix..lol and this kid just compared them to each other SMH....hating just to hate..

Wtf is this...

Hmmm...Roger though i agree that lupe doesnt have to explain himself to anyone...I will say that this is actually a smart move on his part...as he said artists and their baggage(good or bad)=traffic=impressions=money...Just by simply referring to the issue of Lupe Fiasco this guy has given Lupe an opportunity to create more buzz and traffic...whether it be just "did you hear about lupe telling that rr guy off" or something off topic its all good publicity because hes keeping lupe fiascos name on our tongues...A chess move esque type approach...sidebar:www.twitter.com/project3sides...whether this guy would rather listen to tribe or not is not the issue...idiots misinterpret a situation and do not seek to learn more...he probably has yet to understand a single lupe song...Shouts to all of my fellow brothren seeking to describe colors to the blind...lol...Shout out Lu

How is he gonna say anything like that? True , your ego doesn't match your catalog because the quality of your music is so high its hard for someone to have an ego that can match it. And what classics does Kanye have? He is a great rapper but I dont think that in 30 years Im gonna tell my kids about when I was young I used to listen to a rapper named Kanye West, and that is what really constitutes a song being a "classic". And as for the "internet hype", its because you have real fans, not that fans that will leave you because you beef with another rapper they like or something stupid like that. Homeboy needs to stop running a garbage blog that is the quality of something I can make in my 6th period Accounting class, and thats coming from a "young buck". - Happy Holidays!

I respect your response to this childish post, but frankly it probably would have been better to just ignore it. This response just adds to their publicity and it's a site I won't be visiting in the future now that I can see the maturity level of the author there. Speed that album along man, God Speed.

BTW whats the big deal with ATCQ? I listened to 2 of their albums and really it was boring imo. Shudve took the Lupe route and not listened to it. .wud've saved myself some time. Yeah I said it YN!
Jamiezz's picture

Now I wonder if Lu was some guy I read in the posts saying why "blackout" and "You played yourself" instead of talking about something positive. Actually I KNOW IT WAS HIM NOW! HA!
santinogroves's picture

PS : please do your best to come to vancouver british columbia as soon as possible. the olympics are in town in february... maybe a pre-lympic show? ;)
santinogroves's picture

i applaud you for responding to someone such as YN but in all honesty, you can't make a blind man see. logic, understanding and goodness are not synonymous with blogging. if anything, they are polar opposites. his little 'blackout' is meaningless and irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. we are not losers. WE ARE LASERS. we want love not lies... dream on...

Like i told you on twitter, haters need attn, but that shit do not stop the show. Hopefully he learned his lesson to never piss off Lupe Fiasco ever again 2010 is yours!!!!
wire28's picture

i hope he brings his comp up the mountain with him so he can keep calling out blogs and random posters on okayplayer

Well put Lupe. This guy is clearly in the game to get it anyway he can and if that means doing shady things. Than that's what he is going to do..
