Maybe its just me, but the lack of any new releases other than im beamin and shining down has kind of put me off of Lupe. I obviously have all his other stuff (bought the CDs, downloaded all the mixtapes) and i listened to all of them pretty much non stop for a few months. But I'm at a point now where if I dont here anything new and really good im probably going to lose interest entirely. I really dont want to and I think it would be a huge waste, but not hearing anything new from an artist for such a long time really leads to boredom, and Im sure Lupe doesnt want to lose his audience.

well I'm just back to listening to the classics such as food and liquor hadn't listened to it in like a yr and just gave it a spin and enjoyed it

im not hating on either, but lupe still has control over his mixtapes right... why not at least give us a small taste by releasing friends of the people. its just absolutely dry right now though

i dont really agree with that though. i was a huge rock fan so i listened to led zep everyday. but when i got tired of it i just stopped. I cant say im mad at them because led zeppelin is dead, but lupe definitely isnt and this album has been done for some time from what i understand. He's also just gone on a promotion tour which most rappers do AFTER they've released an album, not before. its just not making a lot of sense.

honestly though. rap is the only genre where a constant stream of new music is necessary for fan support.... thats why there's no longevity, there are like a gazillion diff songs oversaturating hiphop everyday and it all becomes throwaway music really.. let an album come out, sit, marinate, and just LIVE LIFE until a new one comes out.... just live life and when something new comes out, then listen.
