    aight so we all now that lupe is known for his superlyricalness, which include extended metaphors and double, triple, sometimes even quadruple entendres. so, i figured y not make a thread dedicated to that. post some lyrics that u just figured out recently, or took u a while to understand.

    i recently caught the "hijacked the role and went and shot the pilot" line from Hi-Definition.

    and even tho it wasnt recently, it took me a while for me to catch the "a match made in heaven set the fires in hell" line from The Coolest.

The bloke in the trench coat in the locs in a chair is Morpheus from The Matrix, when he offered Neo the blue or red pill (metaphor for seeking the truth or staying in the illusion). Lu took both pills, so he has a balance with knowing the truth but coexisting in the facade that is the Hip-Hop industry. He also threw in some vampire/ghost wordplay, and he implies that he's a writer for a ghost writer. Haaa.

Meaning that the average Lupe listener doesn't really understand exactly what he is talking about and referring too. And the whole stay out of son/sun way like your drinking blood refers to Lupe's own lane, as well as being a reference towards zombies and vampires, both of them only appear at night and are never seen out in the sun. Didn't take me too long to figure this one out, but yet another one of my favorites.

"a match made in heaven set the fires in hell AND I'LL BE THE COOLEST N****" meaning LUPE will be there to put it out, like a fireman... those leaning back in LIMBO will be saved by Lupe's words THE SURFACE: obviously is about a girl its when you start to dig REALLY deep that you find what I find. Whoa, Datkid, the filming part just went over my head. I understand the "Khan-Ye" one, just felt like there was something else there, knowing the guy. He wouldn't just say most of his friends in gangs just like that. Ah, as I didn't watch Dragon Ball Z, the Saiyen bit was also lost to me, but it's good to know just one more thing in the incredible Failure. As a Muslim it struck me that he said "astaghfirullah" five times in Little Weapon and also the beginning of Hurt Me Soul. It's a supplication that means "Forgive me, Allah". The bit in Fighters that goes "Holy apartments in the gardens in which the rivers flow" is also a Qur'anic reference describing paradise.
