    Was putting together a playlist of  'story telling' hip-hop songs the other day, and I was just wondering if anybody had any ideas of suitable songs to add? I love a song that can paint a picture and tell a story, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. :)

     

    In case you're interested, these are the songs currently on my list (some are more 'metaphorical' rather than stories as such..live with it, ha):

    - OutKast - Da Art of Storytellin' (Part 1 & 2)

    - Lupe Fiasco - The Cool

    - Nas - I Gave you Power

    - Common - I Am Music

    - Immortal Technique - Dance with the Devil

    - B.o.B - Not Love

- BlackStar - Children's Story (not too fond of the original though..)

- Lil Wayne - Dr Carter (the only Weezy song worthwhile..)

- Timbuktu - Flunitrazepam (you should all learn Swedish just so you could understand this song..)

Okay, thanks for all your suggestions, I'll definitely have listen to them. Thinking about my list again, I definitely (and somewhat intentionally) left out some songs that I've got a bit...bored of listening to (like LP, Eminem, Dre, Biggie and Snoop), even though they certainly warrant a place on the list.. About Slick Rick, I just never got into him. Not sure why, but I'll give his stuff another shot for sure..

Like i said, the only Wayne song i listen to. What can i say, i like the concept, simple as.. Yeah was gonna add that, but decided to only have one song per artist (otherwise i might as well just listen to my Lupe-playlist, lol)
