    this song is extraordinary...

    1st verse- ...not a puffer, im a passer, not a rusher/Russia or a tackler/attackler, I ain't gotta cuff her/cover or tag her/Ortega...

WOW... you must read James Joyce's Fennigan's Wake.

you must read about "Daniel Ortega" from history.

read Beowulf, read about Rommel, read works by Romel

THEN.... get back to me on how ridiculously good Lupe Fiasco really is.

heres a short description of where fennigens wake came from. it was an irish story involving this guy named tim fennigan, but the book fennigans wake was based on this story... In the ballad, the hod-carrier Tim Finnegan, born "with a love for the liquor", falls from a ladder and is thought to be dead. The mourners at his wake become rowdy, and spill whiskey over Finnegan's corpse, causing him to come back to life and join in in the celebrations. Whiskey causes both Finnegan's fall and his resurrection—whiskey is derived from the Irish phrase uisce beatha (IPA: [?i?k?? ?b?ah?]), meaning "water of life". "Finnegan's Wake" is famous for providing the basis of James Joyce's final work, Finnegans Wake (1939), in which the comic resurrection of Tim Finnegan is employed as a symbol of the universal cycle of life. As whiskey, the "water of life", causes both Finnegan's death and resurrection in the ballad, so the word "wake" also represents both a passing (into death) and a rising (from sleep). Joyce removed the apostrophe in the title of his novel in order to suggest an active process in which a multiplicity of "Finnegans", that is, all members of humanity, fall and then wake and arise. WOW... now lets talk... think about "THE COOL"... the liquor filling the casket up... dumb it down... "Which means my iris resides where my ears is Which means I'm blinded" --- iris sure does sound like IRISH cause he meant it whiskey? water of life? think about it... lupe's old gangsta self dies out and he becomes CLEAN... BUT, he uses what he once knew as being bad to show that it can be good at the same time... i.e. he raps about bad things like drugs, hoes, guns, but he does it in a way thats positive BECAUSE he has a NEW LIFE, a POSITIVE life to lead... am i starting to make more sense now? how bout this one... (from lupe's twilight zone) "my mind state, rewinds ***WAKE'S***, and fast-fowards bullets, makin a BEAT-LINE for my FATE".... HOLY SHIT man, DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAAARR

yes, basically i started running his words together and google searching them and see what pops up. then i started reading what the fuck an "attackler" is i started trippin cause this shit is all based on religion. If you know almost all of Lupe's metaphors in every song like i do. you dont even have to think hard when u relisten to it. everything is connected to a perfect society. where theres no violence, poor, discrimination. he says that you must respect the "individual" the creative side can never go wrong... TIPS: ...when lupe mentions lions in his songs, hes refrencing his Dad's name... which means lion. ...panthers are the black panthers that his dad was associated with... ...whenever sports are mentioned, simple games like basketball are not complex, u just need a ball and rules... further reading in romel's works
