    Many people have said that music mainly hip hop  is not what it used to be. So even though we have advanced greatly in technology to make music sound better, but is music really evolving for the better? and do you believe lupe will help in the evolution or devolution of hip hop and music in general?

    so what are your thoughts?

Music isn't in a devolution, it's just changing, like it always does. People are more in a devolution then music, I say that because of the lyrical content in most hip-hop and what people find fun and "cool" now. Reminds me of the movie Idiocracy. Mostly because that movie was showing exactly what is happening.

i listen to music to get away and go to a completley different state of mind. The music i listen to takes me there. so i say its getting better in terms of what i find to listen to

I believe that even though technology is increase does not mean the quality in music increases. I think it just increased the quantity that we heard music. Radio hits so far have come down to attracting the opposite sex, alcohol, clubbing, and partying. Which is alright seeing that music on the radio is a form on entertainment and entertainment is used as distractions from our stressed out lives we live. But since the birth of the internet the knowledge and art filled music is there you just have to do you own searching. People are trying to better themselves in the understanding of music can find it online. So with since technology brought that along. More people are able to put themselves out there, increases quantity. Lupe Fiasco has a high standard in terms of lyrics because it not straight forward. It's like a beautiful disaster. Explosion there explosion here and together they make sense and make a picture creating a new world in your mind. If you approach his music with an open mind. So I believe he'll help the evolution in music.

Don't listen to music? Then why are you even on this site? Sounds like you gave up on music. Well it's both for me. Music is getting better and worse. The music I listen to is getting better and better. Same goes for the lyrics in the music I listen to. Mainstream music in hip hop is getting worser of course. Every rapper on the radio sound the same. Music may be dead for ETW but not for me. Music = Life

OMG like i had no idea this was the lupe fiasco fan site. first of all, no i don't think before i act secondly, i don't talk shit what i was trying to say was just because there auto tune and other shit doesn't mean the musics good and some of the fans may believe that Lu negatives outshine his positives which won't help music evolve,its called looking at both sides of the question thats why i said evolution or devolution, BUT the main question was is music getting better or worse over time?
