What do ya'll think about Lupe putting out rock songs such as Solar Midnight?

Will this move hurt his career as a rapper?

What do you think will be the new single for LASERS?

Anything else you want to say about Lupe.

Die hard fans respond only please!

LMAO! @ Ian I think Lupe is doing great on the rock. He's especially doing good on the Japanese Cartoon side. He should still keep doing Hip Hop but yeah which ever way Lupe goes it's all good with me. Hip Hop/Rock 4 Ever babay!

lupe is a 'music' artist..... he can do whatever he wants and he will still get listeners...... he's not going to hurt him or anyone else by having one rock song per rap album...... he is not the first rapper to do this.... his rock songs still have great lyrics..... ok......

lol yea i forgot to mention that, the instrumental is one of my fave. lupe tracks....but of course imma probably be told that it is not a good song and that my post is pointless lol at internet haters.

We'll see which direction he takes on the L.A.S.E.R.S. album......

His creativity and abilities are limitless. I think the people that are saying he can't "rock" are really narrowing their perspective on what rock music can be. Just like we see other artists pushing hip-hop in new innovative ways, we see Lu coming hard from a different part of his mind in his rock music. I'm all for Lu expanding his music portfolio to reach more people. PEACE!

Yeah well I thought Hello goodbye was okay...but honestly If I wasn't a Lupe fan i'll tell you right now i would notttt have listened to get into that song. I believe Lupe will not have any heavily influenced punk rock music on the L.A.S.E.R.S album because of the negative reviews of the Solar midnight song.

Every time Lu attempts Rock, or Rock influence, it sounds wack. At least to me anyway. And that includes The Instrumental and DEFINITELY Hello, Goodbye. Both lame. And I enjoy rock too... GOOD rock, not just any old excuse for it.

THANK YOU ParisTokyo, who are these people who tell us what and what not to write on this forum. Are you serious? This is a public forum and I asked a legit question, if you don't like the question do not respond to it. Yes ROD189 my name is Lu Who Else. And if anyone is a fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, you can easily see where Lupe gets his influence from whether its through the way he raps in the song to the gear he wears in the video (Anthony Keides). I really believe Lupe is slowly trying to build up a rock fan base for when Lupe decides to continue with Japanese Cartoon after his Rap career. I love rock music and i'll say that Lupe should just stick to rap with rock influence , I hope he doesn't go Punk Rock on us, it doesn't fit him.

it cant hurt, the lyrics of all the japanese cartoon songs are very much lupe fiasco. many of you probly bypassed the work because its punk rock bt i have a feeling lasers will have a big punk influence hence the whole manifesto.

its lu who else ...i get it lol

luwhoelse whatever your name iz. . same thing re arrange you sentence in french, yoruba, patwa, bengali. . it dont matter your question ssuck. . next.
paristokyo_3's picture

its an open forum, anyone/everyone can post whatever they want to discuss. stop acting like you own the forum, and let people discuss whatever they want. if you don't like it, don't respond. @luwhoelse to answer your question i think that a lot of his influence comes from rock culture, so its kind of apparent that his music would reflect this. as far as solar midnight goes, i don't like the song itself in general. however i wouldn't say it was a bad song either, but not the best.

Stupid ass question. It ain't gonna hurt his "career". Cause there are enough dumb ass niggas out there who would love to buy terrible music. But seriously, Rappers need to stick to rap.
Rod189's picture

yea it is kinda pointless doe
TheTruth's picture

whoa whoa whoa How is this a pointless question? And Oloni baloney why don't you read the question before you jump into conclusions. The question is do you think it will hurt his career as a RAPPER.

*YAWN* Yo Busy... u needa make a new category called "Pointless Questions"
Oloni_2's picture

shooo no one cares. . how can rock hurt someones music career. . does that sentence even make sense. Rock is more popular and has been around way lot longer than rap. #stopdattt
