I want one!!! and my favorite song... (not easy to narrow it down to one) but it'd have to be fighters. Really influential song when i first heard it and helped me get through some tough times

"Kick Push", because i love cruisin' on my longboard and chillin to some of the best hip-hop lyrics ever made

My favorite Lupe song is "Little Weapon." The drumbeat is irresistible, but it doesn't get in the way of really important lyrics, which have stayed in my head ever since I heard it a few years ago. I think it does a genius way of showing in some ways how different but in other ways how similar certain societal trends are, and overall how tragic and ludicrous it all is. Like the best Lupe songs, it pulls no punches--plus, the wordplay with the controller buttons in the third verse ("I tell him he work for CIA with A") is awwwesome.

SLR, one of his tracks promoting his newest album Love Always Shines Everytime Remember: Smile. I am in love with Lupe's lyrical genius so it's hard to choose which of his many songs that I place at the top of my fav list. BUT, I choose this one, because its a testament to how he needs to be recognized for his talents, but "they treat [Lupe] like an outcast." His goal is to sit on the globe like north pole. And that's where he deserves to be. Ayyy!! #LupeAllDay

"And He Gets the Girl", because it reminds me of myself. And it's got a kick ass beat!
ryannieland's picture

Hurt Me Soul, because nothing comes close to that last verse.
Dinero's picture

Go Baby because the third verse just has so many one-liners back-to-back.

Till i get there... The song helps me when I'm down or I feel like people don't support me. I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing, be true to myself, and I'll get where i need to be.

GHETTO STORY (STEADY MOBING) nuff said Ha, It don’t get any realer than this. If I was to write a book or a memoir about my life it’ll be based off this song right here. I can go and ramble about how that song changed my life, still to this day that one message stuck to my head and it goes like " At his wake, 8th Grade Graduation picture Last words: Don’t let the habitation get ya" and the hook to that song was powerful for young man like me "Seein’ with my ghetto eyes I walkeded with my ghetto feet I talkeded with my ghetto speech I’m copasetic, I won’t let it bring me down Bring me down" what can i say, i hope we learn more than how to be whores, and, how to move a ball. "

My favorite song is "Kick, Push" because it's the song that introduced me to Lupe Fiasco. Still to this day when I hear that song it brings back memories of what it was like back then. Good times.

After having all 3 Albums.. I Would Have to Say "Out of My Head". Honestly it has this differnt sound to it. It's Chill and Mellow, But it still has that "LUPE" Flair to it. When it comes to songs about the 1 special someone, This is THE SONG! I Listen to it everyday. The song Is telling a story about His one in only and How nothing matters in life, Only you and that One Special someone. Day in and day out, for better or worse.. I Can't Get You Out of My Head.

Never Forget You featuring John Legend. It is my favorite song, mainly because of my father. I am sixteen years old, and I have a bad relationship with him. He was actually just hospitalized last night due to a burst cyst on his kidney. This is due to Polycystic Kidney Disease. It is one of the only similarities shared between my father and I.That one similarity will tie us together for eternity, and I can never forget that. Another way in which I can relate to this song is because of my mother. She is currently in a battle with cancer. I do not know if she will even make it. She has done so much for me, I could never forget her. This song actually brought tears to my eyes when I heard it, because there are monumental people in my life that I will never, ever, be able to forget. Lupe is also one of my inspirations. I was eleven years old when I first started rapping. I rapped about mainstream topics, specifically the girls (that I could never pull) and the money (that my family never had). It was all a lie. Lupe is one of the main reasons that I changed what I rap about. I actually became a conscious rapper in 2009, and I have been going strong ever since. Now, I rap about politics, corruption, problems with females, and much more. Even though it can be fun rapping about big stacks of paper and supermodel girls, when you look at rap from a philosophical view, other things are much more important. p.s. I would LOVE to get on a song with Lupe. That would be a dream come true.

Last one, 'Dedicated'. Fell head first in love of this song the first time I heard it. I love how in one verse he is talking about his girl (I assume), mother, and a muslim lady. I am not a muslim but I have friends who are. And I see the struggles they go through with just being who they are. I love how Lupe speaks about that in his song...the complexities and even at times the sudden urges to want to assimilate entirely to fit into the norms of American society. I love that he speaks of the beauty of them. I wish more people would listen to this song. Btw, here are my favorite lines of the song: ?Them scarves don't cover no scars They guard from the stare of ours. God willing, they can see the gardens Sometimes concealing is hard 'specially when you're living in a place like ours ?

words i never said. normally i dont like songs that are really popular, they tend to be overrated. of course, with lupe its different, because all of his songs have such deep meaning. this song in particular is inspirational. it encourages people from our generation to stand up for what they believe in, to stand up against injustice, to stand up against lies, to stand up against fear, and to speak their mind. we need more songs like this from artists like lupe to encourage a new movement of love.

It's hard to choose just one song because I love all of them, but I Kick, Push is my all time favorite because it reminds me of living in Los Angeles and seeing all the skaters and skating in El Segundo and at Venice beach and reminds me of all of the good times with my friends. Other songs i like: Superstar, Daydreamin, he say she say, hip hop saved my life, hi-definition and words i never said.:)

Beautiful Lasers, because it just makes me feel happy, but they are all amazing!

Lupe is literally my favorite rapper alive. I don't have a favorite song (they're all so amazing) but if I had to choose it would be "Words I Never Said." That song truly speaks to me because it mentions some of the issues that no one else has the guts to talk about. I noticed a general approval of Obama from the mainstream rap community and the fact that Lupe had the guts to go up against almost the entire community of rap with his political beliefs gives me even more respect then I had for him before. The sound of it is also just so amazing. And, by the way, if Lupe reads this, I wish I could have been to the Louisiana concert. My dad (Jon Langford, you may know him from the Colombia college music festival in 2006 in Chicago) went and tole me how fantastic it was. Lupe for life!

Go Go Gadget Flow I love this song because it gets me hyped for literally everything. Driving, working, sitting around, biking... the list goes on. It is really tough to narrow down a favorite from Lu because all of his material is incredible. I have to choose this one because of his crazy fast delivery on it. I also love the line "I'm from a city in the midwest, best city in the whole wide wide world"

my favorite song by lupe is "daydreamin'" i listened to this track 150 times in a row on my 19th birthday (seems like ages ago) it's the first lupe song i have internalized to memory and it has an immediate calming effect upon me to this day. nothing beats your first love affair with lupe's music.

Wow, picking one song will be as hard as picking 5 winners from all these entries. I literally had to go through my whole list of favorites and still could not come up with one, so I will have to just say something about one. I'm really feeling "the coolest" right now. I think it stands for how people who are born in the streets and into crime are stuck to it like being in a bad relationship. The ones that are abusive and no matter what they do they can never leave because they "love" the person so much. I think this connection is similar to what Lupe is explaining in the Coolest.

SLR (Super Lupe Rap), because Lupe Fiasco goes on a rampage of sheer genius. Six minutes of non-stop awesomeness is pretty hard to achieve, but anythings possible for Lu. FNF UP!

Has to be Gold Watch. Absolutely fantastic. "And my, ghetto broad and she, so plain gotta, couple scars and oneofthoselongnames" priceless. Little Weapon, Put You On Game, Kick, Push and every track of off the Demon Days mixtape are close though.

I have too many favorite songs by lupe all the cds are the bomb. Lasers is by far one of the most best records of its genre i love every song. Beautiful lasers is for sure my favorite song on the album right now the way he puts his feelings into his lyrics is just undescribable.

Kick,Push. This was the first Lupe track I listened to and instantly a fan. The beat just lifts me and puts me at ease. Original story telling with the idea of freedom through skating. Sometimes you got people who wanna pull you down for having the world in your hands because they don't but you just gotta coast by them and do you. Whatever it is that makes you happy there are people out there with the same ideas. Wherever you go - it doesn't matter as long as you have the people who matter with you.

Never Forget You I love it because it is such and upbeat song that makes me remember great times of my life. Also this song can put me in a great mood no matter what happens.
Jibs2's picture

It's seriously difficult to choose one song. "Words I Never Said" is one of my favorites though, because of what you did with the lyrical content at this point in your career when you have so much more media and mainstream attention. Your lyrics stay true and push for thoughts that too many people in the mainstream world don't get exposed to, like the Gaza Strip and what Jihad is. I think it's genius to come out with that music video after The "Show Goes On" too, because you had a lot of attention with it and more people were following you. But of course, I have to also mention how crazy "Switch: The Science Project," Little Weapon," and "SLR" are. Keep staying true to your own self man, we want to listen.
armando106's picture

I have to say mine is "Glory" from Revenge Of The Nerds! Because the lyricism and metaphors in the song are amazing and ever after hearing it hundreds of times i still find little details i did not catch on to so quickly.

I love listening to Lupe. The music is a whole new level of is so hard to describe beyond the fact that the sound is just wow. I don't know. But I love it.
